Muskegon Community College Chooses Inglenet for WEB Registration Project

Inglenet Business Solutions is pleased to announce the completion of Phase One of its project with Muskegon Community College, to provide interactive Web based access to certain sections of the CollegeÆs in-house business systems. Muskegon Community College, located in Muskegon, Michigan, developed a ôHigh Tech Campusö initiative to Web-enable its business systems, known as CLAS (College Level Administrative Software). The CLAS system provides the core administrative functions for running the college.

Inglenet Business Solutions, a long-term technology partner with Muskegon Community College, worked alongside the 82 year old institution to identify key areas where technology could be used to realize the CollegeÆs vision. For the initial phase of the project, Inglenet developed specific technologies to expose, and modernize existing legacy user interfaces in the form of web pages.

According to David Seith, Information Technology Director for the College, ôInglenet assisted us in defining and designing how WEB based registration could best serve our students. InglenetÆs efforts helped MuskegonÆs diverse staff sort out various options and reach consensus on an appropriate solution. The project was completed on time and within anticipated cost.ö

Both Muskegon students and staff, through this web enabled system, will benefit from this technology as the class registration process becomes more streamlined and expedientö, explains Ron Norman, President and COO of Inglenet Business Solutions. Other initial benefits of the project include an improved visibility of the existing business system to allow for further growth, and improved functionality of the current system.

Added David Seith, ôOther options, such as purchasing commercially available software to replace our legacy systems, were significantly more expensive, so using the Inglenet Internet Connector represents a cost effective solution that allows us to extend the life of our legacy systems. Both Inglenet and Muskegon Community College realized that exposing its existing systems on the Internet required new e-business functions to be developed. As a result, Phase Two of the project will involve adding further functionality to accept student credit card payment.
